I had 2 ideas:

Healing tower: heals allied troops and heroes in its radius by a small percentage.  Slowest activation rate among towers, for balance reasons. Garrison effects could be to speed up "attack" rate; remove negative status effects; temp boost in defense; or maybe even radius increase. 

Other idea:

New hero: the constructor

the constructors special heals allied buildings and damages enemy building within a certain radius.
